Homelessness: a way out?

Posted:

A recent blog written by Amber Harding for the DC Fiscal Policy Institute, suggests that permanent affordable housing is the key to prevent the rising numbers of homeless families in The District. SBY’s own Permanent Housing Program is on the forefront of this issue, providing housing for 13 formerly homeless families.

In addition to finding permanent housing for families, this May, with the support of our sponsors, SBY will be creating new housing for 8 at-risk youth in the Marshall Heights neighborhood of Ward 7. Our blitz build project will provide service-enriched housing through a complete renovation of the dilapidated building at 5032 D Street, SE.
