We are a DC-based nonprofit helping youth facing or at risk of homelessness and their families, named after Alexandra (Sasha), daughter of early supporters David and Evangeline Bruce.
Founded in 1974 by Deborah Shore, our Executive Director, to aid runaway and street kids in DC’s Georgetown neighborhood.
We serve all DC residents, with a focus on Wards 5, 6, 7, and 8. Some services are also provided in Prince George’s County, Maryland.

Your donation to the Rapid Response Fund supports survival services, counseling, job training, and provides a loving home for young people. Over the past five years, your gifts have helped move over 4,000 young people out of homelessness.
