HOMELESS YOUTH COUNT REVEALS HIDDEN PROBLEM
WASHINGTON (November 15, 2017) — Sasha Bruce Youthwork leads the campaign to prevent youth homelessness in the nation’s capital. Many of the venerable organization’s strategies are corroborated by the findings in today’s national survey of unaccompanied youth and young adults, published by Chapin Hall.

“The young people we serve are not just the visible homeless. We’ve long been aware of the prevalence and extreme risks associated with ‘couch surfing’ for instance,” said Shore. “But sadly, too few elected and appointed officials share our recognition of the extreme vulnerability for young people who experience this–and other–less-obvious forms of homelessness. We cannot rely on the federal government alone. This study should be a red flag for organizing our communities.”
